Conroe Independent School District

Conroe Independent School District is one of two public school systems that serve residents of Woodforest. The district has a legacy of excellence, with district test-takers easily exceeding state and regional scores on state-mandated tests. In addition, Conroe ISD students are well-equipped to meet the rigorous challenges of college. One-third of the district’s high school students take advanced and dual credit courses and students’ commitment to their studies is evident in their SAT scores, which are nearly 100 points above the average state scores. Guiding students along the road to success are dedicated teachers who have been with the district an average of 7.9 years. Nearly 50 percent of the district’s educators have 11 or more years of experience and more than 25 percent hold master’s or doctorate degrees.

Woodforest students zoned to Conroe ISD attend B.B. Rice Elementary, Cryar Intermediate (fifth and sixth grades), Peet Junior High (seventh and eighth grades) and Conroe High School, ranked in the top 6 percent of high schools nationwide by Newsweek magazine. Conroe High School holds a “Recognized” rating from the Texas Education Agency.

Montgomery Independent School District

Acclaimed Montgomery Independent School District also serves young residents of Woodforest. Respected academically for its innovative approach to education, the district boasts Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency in a variety of areas, including its number of college-ready graduates and scores on the writing and social studies portions of state-mandated tests. Nearly three-quarters of graduating students take college entrance exams, with their average SAT score of 1500 easily topping average state scores. Helping students shine academically is a ratio of 15.5 students per teacher. Montgomery ISD teachers have an average of 14.1 years of teaching experience and nearly 20 percent have earned advanced degrees. The school district also is recognized for its financial management practices, with Montgomery ISD receiving a superior achievement rating annually since the Texas Education Agency implemented the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.
