Did you know, that a woman is assaulted or beaten every nine seconds? What about that one in three women have been in an abusive relationship, and one in five have faced severe physical violence? In fact, 20 people are abused by an intimate partner every minute, which means that 10 million people are abused by their intimate partner every year. Domestic violence is a large issue and is even a party of our own community.
Avery Palacios and Courtney Brumley are sophomores at iSchool High School in The Woodlands and are working to help make a difference in the lives of women in our community who are victims of domestic violence. Woodforest has teamed up with the girls to accept donations for the Montgomery County Women's Center. Below are all the items you can drop off at the Homefinder Lodge from December 8th - December 10th.
The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.
Unwrapped toy donations will go to local Montgomery County youth.
