Charlotte's Take: A Culinary Garden of Eden
Okay, here’s a tip for all of you new WOFO residents. Eden Café, just a few miles down the road at FM 1488 and Egypt Lane is about to be your go-to restaurant for whatever you might be in the mood for.
Sandwich? Check! Burger? Oh my goodness, yes! Fettuccine Alfredo, Shrimp & Grits, and the salads — add chicken or shrimp to Laura’s Salad, and you have the perfect meal.
Specialties like Chicken Pot Pie, Mom’s Meatloaf and Chicken Marsala will tempt you to forget about the diet — and they are all served with your choice of two sides. All I can say is, you should order an appetizer of spinach dip or fried calamari if you’re hungry because going through all the menu choices and then the 17 sides to choose from is going to take a while! And if you can’t decide, Eden Café even has you covered there, with customer favorites indicated. If you want wine with dinner, you have choices there, too, with 44 bottles on the regular list, and every one of them can be served by the glass. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, dip into the Owner’s Cellar for a bottle of Rombauer chardonnay or a Jordan cabernet.
Oh, and let’s not forget about breakfast — you can get Eggs Benedict, “Texas” French Toast and an Eden Skillet 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday AND Sunday!
Honestly, I'm there so often someone mistakenly thought I was a hostess. I am NOT kidding. But that’s okay, you know me — I love helping people out, so I was happy to hand them a menu and point out a few favorites.
